Brick Lane, London

Brick Lane!
_MG_5873 640

This was where I was really inspired.

_MG_5877 640

The arty and grungy environment gets one in the mood for street photography.

_MG_5882 640

Everything seems to fit.

_MG_5899 640

The people and the walls go well together.

_MG_5902 640

A fantastic indie label.

_MG_5904 640

A self-portrait.

_MG_5912 640

He was cutting grass.

_MG_5913 640

Cool dude.

_MG_5914 640

The colours are simply wonderful.

_MG_5915 640

They saw me and waved.

_MG_5918 640

Beautiful people, beautiful wall art.

_MG_5921 640

The kids were enjoying the art too.

_MG_5922 640

Lots of cyclists.

_MG_5923 640

A smile and a frown.

_MG_5939 640

Hard at work.

_MG_5949 640

Another cyclist.

_MG_5950 640

Cool name for a shop.

_MG_5952 640

Taking a break.

_MG_5966 640

Nice juxtaposition.

_MG_6009 640

Another cyclist.

_MG_6012 640

Mischievous dino – I thought the colours went well together.

_MG_6018 640

The street art is gorgeous.

_MG_6019 640

Street art is meant to be seen with and by people.

_MG_6035 640

They had those in Paris too.

_MG_6047 640

Just another day for her.

_MG_6049 640

A reminder that I need to get closer.

_MG_6050 640

At Brick Lane, the street photographs present themselves one after another.

_MG_6052 640

I can’t click fast enough.

_MG_6058 640

This place is a visual cornucopia.

_MG_6060 640

And I saw this – an exhibition of Singaporean art at Brick Lane.

As it turned out, I bumped into Randy Chan, the curator of the exhibition. I recognized him from a photo in a newspaper report on the exhibition.

_MG_6064 640

More on Singapore: Inside Out in another post.

_MG_6076 640

Funny.

_MG_6083 640

I couldn’t resist a final shot at the entrance of this excellent place.

London’s Chinatown, Hamleys and Oxford Street

Again, in London.

_MG_5797 640

The Hong Kong MTR in London.

_MG_5801 640

Ooh.

_MG_5806 640

Aah.

_MG_5810 640

Kowloon is in London.

_MG_5820 640

Heroic-looking man. There’re 5 people here but the eyes are drawn to a specific person.

_MG_5824 640

The folks at Hamleys.

_MG_5832 640

Along Oxford Street.

_MG_5833 640

Waiting man.

London Street Photography

There’s no method to this madness called street photography.

_MG_5727 640

At Trafalgar Square: a straightforward shot.

_MG_5730 640

We’re all distracted people.

_MG_5748 640

Admiring Cezanne at the National Gallery.

_MG_5754 640

Consuming Monet.

_MG_5756 640

Blurry man against blurry painting.

_MG_5771 640

Around the Bloomsbury area – the lines “made sense” to me.

_MG_5776 640

A busy shot at the Covent Garden Market.

_MG_5786 640

T-shirts!

_MG_5793 640

Time for a sip.

Street Photography at Central, Hong Kong

I was at Central with about an hour to kill before a lunch meeting.

_MG_5432 640

Coincidentally, of course, I had my Canon 600D with a 40mm / f 2.8 STM lens.

I really like the above, with its three partitions.

_MG_5445 640

I thought I’d try my hand at street photography from a distance.

_MG_5433 640

Street photography with an urban landscape component.

_MG_5457 640

I walked up and down the Central Escalators for a bit.

_MG_5474 640

I feel I have more time to think about the background.

_MG_5475 640

The background is the foreground.

_MG_5479 640

Another urban landscape-ish skyline shot.

_MG_5492 640

Lots of people are hard at work in the sun.

_MG_5501 640

That’s a really big camera.

_MG_5524 640

Working hard.
